Whether inside or out, choosing color is always one of the most difficult parts of the job. At Accent Painting, we
have always made it a point to allow our customers to express themselves
with color choice. We have a lot of experience and are happy to provide
limited input. We also can use technology to upload a digit picture of
your home into a program that enables us to sample multiple color
schemes right before your eyes.
We have always tried to express
the importance of contrast, meaning the color difference between the
trim and walls or the trim and the body (exterior). When choosing
interior colors, it’s important to remember that one room leads to
another and that a bright yellow is not necessarily going to flow with
a bright green. Therefore, we must consider a pallet of color rather
than just one room as a stand alone. It is best, however to start with
a room of great importance to you and then move on from there. For
instance, if your kitchen is the heart of your home; the place where
everyone gathers after a long day, creating the right atmosphere there
is a great place to start.
Using accent walls is also another
way to tie color together and give the room a different feel. In our
experience, accent walls may very well also be the only chance the men
get to actually choose a color!
Depending on the size of your job, you also may want to consider employing a colorist to assist you with your choices.
